For over 30 years, I have had the privilege of working with people struggling with a range of challenges – relationships, career, parenting, family of origin, depression, anxiety, gender identity, just to name a few. The people whom I work with often tell me that they feel seen and understood - that I "get" them.
In addition, I bring curiosity, empathy, humor, and energy to the work. I will challenge and support you, help you to find words for what you have experienced and what you wish to experience. Most of all, I believe that when the fit is right, a good therapeutic relationship can provide a powerful vehicle for healing and transformation.
In therapy with me – you will always feel that there is a real person in the room with you, and that you have a partner in your life journey.
I believe that you can realize your potential at any age. Often I find that before you can move ahead, you have to go back to make sense of your history, especially if it is holding you back. Thus, in my work with adults, I specialize in helping people heal from trauma: childhood emotional, physical and sexual abuse, as well as more present-day traumas and chronic stressors.
My work with children centers on helping them develop a core positive sense of themselves – and working through any obstacles—anxiety, loss, sibling or family conflicts—that may be impeding their ability to be in the world in a more resilient, creative and joyful way.
